Aims
The requalification training will include a revision of topics covered in their original training course along with any new protocols that have been introduced, thus enabling all delegates to deal with emergency situations with confidence and in a safe and effective way
Duration – 2 days
The Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 state that employers are required to provide adequate personnel, training, equipment and facilities to render First Aid to their employees should they become injured or taken ill at work. Worksafe deliver First Aid Training courses in association with NUCO Training. NUCO is the largest provider of First Aid Training courses in the United Kingdom. The HSE regulations state that as the First Aid at Work certificates are only valid for three years, all delegates will need to carry out a refresher course
The 2 day First Aid at Work Requalification course is approved by the HSE, and must be completed within a 28 day period of their current certificate expiry date. Delegates will be asked to provide evidence that their qualification has not expired beyond the 28 day period. All certificates provided must have been issued by training providers that have HSE approval. If the certificate has expired beyond the 28 day period the delegate will need to attend a full 3 day First Aid at Work course.
Course Objectives
At the end of the course delegates will have covered a wide range of subjects including:
- Legalities, responsibilities and reporting
- Assessment of the situation
- Dealing with an unconscious casualty

- Resuscitation
- Heart Attacks
- Control of bleeding
- Bandaging
- Fractures
Assessment and Certification
On successful completion of the course delegates will be issued with a First Aid certificate approved by the Health and Safety Executive for a further three years.
