This course is available nationwide and can be delivered on the client’s site.

This training programme is for nurses, healthcare assistants, therapists and people handling staff who work in a hospital setting, a nursing/residential home or school where people handling is undertaken frequently.
The aim of this induction programme is to introduce staff to the causes and prevention of musculoskeletal problems and manual handling injuries, and to demonstrate the principles of correct body mechanics and handling techniques for inanimate loads and people.

KEY BENEFITS
+ Explain responsibilities to handling people (including Legislation) and explain MSDs preventative measures including dynamic risk assessment. Have demonstrated the importance of risk assessment and discuss the principles of common sense ergonomics. Be able to apply evidence based principles to job specific handling tasks. Explain importance of using manual handling equipment such as hoists, slide sheets etc. Demonstrate techniques for load handling. Demonstrate correct people handling techniques with and without equipment. Demonstrate the use of a variety of equipment.
CERTIFICATION
+ On successful completion of the course the delegates will be issued with a certificate of attendance.
