This training programme is for nurses, healthcare assistants, therapists and people handling staff who work in a hospital setting, a nursing/residential home or school where people handling is undertaken frequently. The aim of this induction programme is to introduce staff to the causes and prevention of musculoskeletal problems and manual handling injuries, and to demonstrate the principles of correct body mechanics and handling techniques for inanimate loads and people. Our company registration number is 06456995. The term ‘client’ or ‘you’ refers to the user or viewer of our website. ORDERS AND PAYMENTS 1. Firm Bookings and Acceptance The completion of the on-line booking form and submission (electronic or otherwise) to Worksafe constitutes your order for the consultancy/training as referred to in the booking form whether or not you intend to make a payment on-line. For all booking made on-line via our website full payment is required either by credit/debit card. All booking forms sent in by post need to be accompanied by a purchase order or cheque for the full amount made payable to Worksafe Training & Consultancy Ltd. For all telephone and email bookings a purchase order will be required Worksafe will acknowledge receipt of all bookings either electronically or by letter. All bookings are subject to our written confirmation. In the event of us not accepting any booking, any monies paid to us from your credit/debit card will be refunded as soon as possible. 2. Prices The prices payable for bookings can be obtained via a quote from Worksafe. VAT is charged at the current rate. 3. Invoices For all bookings placed and paid for via our website or a cheque submitted with a booking form an invoice marked “PAID “ will be sent to you by post or email within 5 working days. For all other bookings a invoice will be sent to you upon receipt of the booking. For all work conducted on the clients site an invoice will be raised once the service has been completed unless different arrangements are made at the time of the booking. 4. Payment Bookings made via the website need to be paid with a credit/debit card. If you are sending us a booking form by post please enclose a cheque unless you are providing a purchase order in which case we will send you an invoice. For all bookings made by telephone, email or letter, an invoice will be sent to the company, payment will be due 30 days from date of invoice. SERVICES All outlines of consultancy or courses are intended as guides only. All our services are regularly reviewed and updated to reflect any changes in legislation, business development as well as improvements to the services we offer. 1. DELEGATE NUMBERS Our training courses are run by experienced training consultants and are intended to be participative where appropriate. To assist this, the number of delegates per course is restricted, so to enable those attending to obtain the full benefit of discussion and interaction between delegates and training consultants. 2. WHAT IS INCLUDED IN PURCHASE PRICE Please see individual service/course/proposal description for details 3. COURSE MATERIALS Course handouts or books are sometimes provided as a learning aid and to help with note taking. They are only available to those booked on a course. Handouts and books may not be reproduced in any part without written permission from Worksafe. 4. CHANGE OR CANCELLATION OF BOOKINGS Worksafe acknowledges that changes in circumstances can mean services may be cancelled. To be eligible for a refund we require 10 working days notice of cancellations. However cancellations can cause us complications and therefore are subject to the following conditions: Delegates on training courses can be substituted at any time prior to the course with the prior approval of Worksafe. Worksafe will consider a transfer to another training course providing we are given 48 hours notice and dependent on circumstances. A business may cancel their booking without charge providing the necessary notice of 10 working days is given all monies will be refunded. Services conducted at the clients site – cancellation or postponement received less than 10 working days before the commencement of the service will incur a 100% charge. Once we arrive on site should it not be possible to conduct the agreed service a full charge will be made. However our Consultant can carry out alternative work if required. Occasionally Worksafe may need to cancel. In this event we will give as much notice as circumstances permit and alternative dates will be offered. 5. DATA PROTECTION Your personal data will be added to our database for the purpose of processing your booking and to inform or update you with any relevant details of the services we offer. If you do not wish to receive any further information from us whether by telephone, email or post please inform us on 01284 748288 or email enquiries@work-safe.co.uk No personal data will be forwarded or sold to any third party and shall remain confidential only to be utilised by Worksafe. 6. PRIVACY You acknowledge and agree to be bound by the terms of our privacy policy 7. MANUAL HANDLING INANIMATE LOADS 3 hours This Manual Handling Inanimate Load course is available nationwide and can be delivered on the client’s site. The practical elements of the course are conducted in the delegate’s workplace, doing tasks they need to do on a day to day basis. Our manual handling training will help you manage and prevent musculoskeletal injury in your workplace. The evidence-based training focuses on risk assessment and use of equipment available in the workplace. The aim of this course is to teach delegates the causes, prevention and management of musculoskeletal disorders and to revise the principles of correct body mechanics and a range of techniques for handling inanimate loads. All training is job-specific that is in line with the Health and Safety Executive’s current strategy, and will help you comply with your legal requirements. This entails training delegates in their normal place of work doing jobs they do on a day to day basis. Additionally, following the manual handling training we give written feedback on recommended action you can take to reduce manual handling risk. BASIC LIFE SUPPORT TRAINING Basic First Aid 3 hours This Basic Life Support Training (BLS) course is available nationwide, and is ran as on on-site course for up to 12 delegates at a clients venue on a date of your choice. The training rooms needs to be large enough to accommodate all your delegates with adequate room to practice CPR. This is a short course in Basic Life Support and is ideal for those looking to gain basic first aid knowledge and skills. The aim of the course is to enable all students to deal with an unresponsive casualty who is breathing normally, and how to deal with an unresponsive casualty who is not breathing normally. Who should attend? Suitable for all clinical staff and clinical students working in: NHS hospitals (large hospitals and community hospitals) Private hospitals Clinics Nursing homes Universities with clinical students Social care – care staff *A maximum of 12 students can be accommodated on this course.
